Class Outline

This class comprises ~7 hours of HD video instruction with 10 portrait sketching tutorials and inspiring reference photos.

Lesson 1 (76m) 

Learn Justin's personal method for achieving a likeness for any subject. Draw a male face based on average facial proportions, and then sketch two celebrity faces to see how each deviates from the average.

Lesson 2 (62m)

Sketch a portrait of Justin using what you learned in Lesson 1. Then draw a female face based on average facial proportions, and sketch a female subject to practice on a real person.

Lesson 3 (85m)

Sketch three different faces in three different positions: frontal view, profile view and 3/4 view.

Lesson 4 (73m)

Draw a fully rendered portrait (as opposed to a sketch) of a female subject in frontal view. Practice drawing teeth realistically.

Lesson 5 (53m)

Draw a fully rendered portrait of a male subject in frontal view on toned paper using graphite and white charcoal.

Lesson 6 (56m)

Draw a fully rendered portrait of an older female subject in frontal view. Practice drawing wrinkles realistically.
